The National Enabling Programmes (NEP) and Microsoft are to create a new user group to exploit the opportunities from Microsoft’s PowerApps, Flow and Power BI applications from a non-technical user perspective.
The new Police Power Platform User Group has been developed off the back of feedback from forces during the Art of the Possible sessions, with attendees noting a desire to discover ways of automating and speeding up processes using the available Microsoft tools.
The first meeting of the group will take place on 4 July at Microsoft’s Paddington HQ, and will feature an intro by Samit Saini, who without any coding experience used PowerApps to transform security tasks at London’s Heathrow airport.
Power Platform provides a low-code environment for forces to create intelligent applications and integrated workflow that can help digitise manual or paper processes. No Power Platform requires any coding experience – anyone who knows PowerPoint and Excel can build a mobile app.
More details of Group events will be sent directly to members of the police force community, but you’ll be able to read about how the Group makes progress in future newsroom stories.
