Police Digital Service launches

The National Enabling Programmes (NEP) is proud to be one of the first 'in-flight' programmes that is now under the wing of the new Police Digital Service (PDS).

Over the past year the NEP has been working alongside colleagues in other ICT programmes and the Police ICT Company which precedes the Police Digital Service to make significant progress in the delivery of the National Police Digital, Data and Technology Strategy.

Many colleagues from within the NEP are working to help establish the new services and focus the outcomes our communities and policing expect of us.

The Vision Statement for the police digital service states: By 2030, the Police Digital Service will deliver the capabilities to create a more digitally enhanced police service whose workforce can more fully exploit data and technology to inform improved decision-making, strengthen operational effectiveness, drive value for money and most importantly better safeguard and protect the public.

We are pleased to confirm that our programme director, Wayne Parkes, will also be taking up the role of the Chief Digital Data and Technology Officer within the PDS.
