Q&A: Transforming the way the tri-force alliance works – a view from the front

“I look back at how as organisations we all worked independently with a multitude of suppliers, with products that don’t necessarily talk well with each other, or how we have been under-equipped to acknowledge our data risk. I think there is an awful lot that the NEP can help change”.

We’d been talking to ACC Michael Colbourne at Bedfordshire Police to hear about how the work his team are doing to help the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) police forces to transform the way they work and collaborate.

The tri-force alliance and the NEP team are currently working together on developing their use cases, which will illustrate and demonstrate how the forces can develop and implement more efficient and effective ways of working and collaborating.

“We’re wrestling with real problems in policing, that is our reality”, he continues. “With this approach, we’re learning how we can apply different technology to help us solve these problems”.
